9/11: Remember and Volunteer

We are seven weeks away from the 15th anniversary of 9/11. Many of us were AAJ members in 2001 when we organized Trial Lawyers Care (TLC) to provide free legal help for the people whose lives were devastated by the attacks. I was one of more than 1,100 lawyers who provided pro bono legal work.

On the 15th anniversary of 9/11, I am asking the trial lawyer community to volunteer once again this fall—this time to prevent suffering, through our commemorative effort to save young lives.

Hundreds of lawyers have already reached more than 300,000 teens across North America by giving End Distracted Driving presentations to schools and community groups. Through our partnership with EndDD.org, hundreds more are volunteering to speak throughout September.

Saving lives by promoting accountability and safety is a mission that AAJ members embrace every day. Connecting with our local schools is an opportunity for trial lawyers to demonstrate how they care—and to promote conversations about driving that will save lives.
